On December 31, 2013, 14th All-Japan Quran competition was held at Arabic Islamic Institute in Tokyo. About 200 contestants from all parts of Japan recited verses of the Quran in the competition. The participants were divided into the following six groups based on their level of the Quran memorization.
Level 1: Those who have memorized any Surah
Level 2: Those who have memorized more than half Juz
Level 3: Those who have memorized more than one Juz
Level 4: Those who have memorized more than two Juz
Level 5: Those who have memorized more than five Juz
Level 6: Those who have memorized Hole Quran Karim
Quran recitation competition was also held for adult men.
Prizes were distributed to winners of each level mentioned above. The first prize of a Umrah ticket to the winner and his father was awarded to Hafiz Inamul Hassan who competed for the last level 6. The winner among adults, Mr. Sabri also got got Umrah ticket as the winner among adult men.
The annual Quran competition provides an opportunity to the Muslim youth in Japan to memorize the Quran and thus keep in touch with their beloved religion in this secular society.
